Walkers have set off on a journey of 127 miles (204 km) (starting at Basingwerk Abbey on Monday 8th August 2011) on the North Wales Pilgrims Way for the first time. The path goes through Llansannan on its way to Bardsey Island, the end of the journey. It was the Dean of St Asaph Chris Potter, and his wife Jenny, that decided upon attempting to establish a pilgrims walk in North Wales following their walk to Santiago de Compostela in Spain
